Clomid is a medication used to treat female infertility. It is clomiphene citrate and this drug is used to induce ovulation.
Women with conditions like polycystic ovary syndrome are more likely to respond to clomiphene.
But what kind of medication is Clomid?
Clomiphene is increasing the levels of FSH. An increased level of these hormones gives better chances of growing an ovarian follicle that can trigger ovulation. 80% of women who ovulate irregularly and take clomid will ovulate, and 30 to 40 percent of those become pregnant. It is necessary to take up to three cycles of clomiphene to see results.
Clomid is not effective in blocked Fallopian tubes since if they are blocked, stimulating ovulation would not be effective – the egg and the sperm cannot meet if the Fallopian tubes are blocked.
How is Clomid taken? The patient should follow her doctor´s directions. Every doctor has a slightly different protocol. The most frequent dosage of Clomid is 50 mg, taken by mouth for five days, on days three through seven of the menstrual cycle, or five to nine of the cycle. Ovulation and pregnancy happen in the same percentage whether the drug is taken on day two, three, four or five.
If 50 mg doesn´t work, the dosage may be increased, according to the doctor´s judgment, for a successive cycle. Or it could be possible another try with 50 mg. More is not always better, higher doses of clomid, especially at or above 150 mg can make conception more difficult.
Clomid´s side effects are not so bad. The most common side effects are breast tenderness, hot flashes, nauseas and mood swings. They happen in a very low percentage and once the medication is stopped, the side effects will disappear. The most “popular” side effect is the risk of having twins, but triplets or multiples are rare, happening less than 1 percent of the time.
Clomid review for edonlinestores.net customer
I have irregular periods due to Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. I sometimes go up to six months without a period. My doctor first recommended that I try diet and exercise to restore my fertility but unfortunately that just wasn’t effective; so he prescribed Clomid to induce ovulation. First he started me on 50mg Clomid. I ordered Generic Clomid online at edonlinestores.net. Six days after the last dose I finally ovulated and got pregnant! My husband and I were thrilled. Through the use of Clomid, we now have a ten year old daughter, a seven year old daughter, and a six year old son. I at first was skeptical of Clomid efficacy but it does really work to induce ovulation. I normally don’t like to even take aspirin so taking Clomid was kind of a stretch for me to feel comfortable with, but I didn’t experience any negative side effects. For years I never knew if or when I’d ovulate or have a period. This was disconcerting when it came time to plan my family and I turned to my ob/gyn for assistance as we had been trying to get pregnant for over a year without success. If you are struggling with infertility then you really should ask your doctor about Clomid. I’m so glad he had the foresight to prescribe it and I truly consider it a wonder drug for women who fail to ovulate regularly. The best part is that following my pregnancies, my cycles have returned to normal. I ovulate at regular intervals and have a period every twenty eight days. This means it is much easier to plan my activities around my time of the month. Having those long anticipated babies has brought a lot of joy to our lives. We are so happy that we were able to use Clomid to grow our family. Who knows, without it we may never have had one child; let alone three. We couldn’t be happier with our experience using Clomid and we recommend it without reservation to anyone struggling with infertility who would like to be a mom. All-in-all for the cost of the medication, it is definitely worth being able to have children of our own, when previously we doubted due to my fertility issues whether we’d ever be parents. We’d considered adoption but we weren’t sure if that was an option due to finances being so tight. However, Clomid really helped my fertility and my overall reproductive health and I couldn’t be happier with my experience taking this medication. It was just what my system needed to enable me to become a mother.
